Public Auditions: Pre-Professional Dancers & Youth

Audition to perform alongside the Chicago Black Dance Legacy Project in its August 23rd engagement at the Harris Theater. Selected dancers will participate in the CBDLP's Emerging Dancer's Initiative, a program aimed at providing professional dance opportunities and mentorship to community youth. While primarily focused on intermediate/advanced dancers, the audition is open to all. Rehearsals will occur in the three weeks leading up to the show.

  • Pre-Professional/Youth Auditions
    Time: 1pm Sign-in/Warm up | 2pm Audition
    Attire: Dance wear and shoes appropriate for variety of movement including: modern/contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap and footwork. There will be a mix of styles featured in the audition. Prepare for genres you are experienced in.

    Age: 14-21 (not firm restrictions, depending on skill level and experience, dancers outside of range may apply). Important to note that dancers must be capable of participating fully in a 3 week intensive rehearsal process. More information will be shared at auditions.
    What to bring: Headshot and updated resume to audition.
